What is Employee Benefits Liability Insurance?

Employee benefits may cover a variety of different types of features. Some types of employee benefits may be mandated by law, such as overtime, minimum wage, unemployment benefits, leave under the Family Medical Leave Act, disability, and workers compensation. Other forms of employee benefits may not be required by the law, but employees may choose to offer them as incentives to their employees. Employee benefits may be non-cash, indirect payments contained as part of a compensation package. Various types of employee benefits might include health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, paid vacation leave, life insurance, child care, sick leave, personal leave, a retirement plan, and other types of optional benefits. When health insurance is provided as part of employee benefits, it may be offered as part of a group health insurance plan. Other types of employee benefits may be known as fringe benefits or perks and include tuition assistance, stock options, use of a company vehicle, and free meals.
